A. WHO TO TURN TO WHEN DEATH OCCURS?
When a death occurs at home, one needs to contact emergency service by dialing 194, who then calls upon a Coroner to perform an examination and establish the cause of death and issue permission for burial of a deceased person, confirmation of the fact of Death and Certificate of Death.
After examination by a Coroner, a deceased person's family can contact emergency personnel on Stand-by duty at 098/249-103. Upon invitation, we take over and transport the deceased person to the Mortuary at the City cemetery in Rovinj and the place of interment.
When a death occurs in a hospital, retirement home, or other Institutions:
The family of a deceased person or person who takes care of the funeral can contact the personnel on Stand-by duty at 098/249-103 for transportation of the deceased to the Mortuary on City cemetery in Rovinj and place of interment.
B. ORGANIZATION OF AN INTERMENT
The family of a deceased person or another person taking care of the funeral can make arrangements for the organization of interment, select funeral equipment and services, and handle other details at the Office located in the City cemetery in Rovinj. The address is Ulica Laste 15, on business days from 8 through 15 hours and every Saturday from 8 until 13 hours. Personal Identification Card of the Deceased and one photo must be submitted when making arrangements for the organization of interment.
C. CREMATION
When agreed, we organize cremation services, transportation of the deceased to the Crematorium, and place of Deceased person’s interment. The identity card of the Deceased must be submitted when making arrangements.
